Allison Leyton-Brown

Allison Leyton-Brown is an award-winning composer, pianist, and musical director based in New York City. Allison has written more than 30 original music and sound scores for theatre, dance, opera and film productions across the U.S. and Canada. Recent scoring credits include the short film “Meet My Boyfriend” (by Liz Tuccillo, starring Callie Thorne, directed by John Ruocco); the documentary film “Rainy Season”; a live string quartet for Out of the Blue, her second project for Archipelago Theatre (with whom she is composer-in-residence); and the live score for Duke University’s production of Exit the King with puppeteer Basil Twist.  Other music-theater pieces include the live theatrical serial Cedar City Falls, On Teeth & Longing, The Theory of Kiss, Aloha Flight 243, and Last Days in Vegas. Film and Television credits include the feature-length documentary Millions: A Lottery Story (nationwide screenings), Dog’s Life (Telluride Film Fest), a silent short for Coca Cola, and music for Lifetime Network, WE, The Food Network and more.

Allison teaches composition at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, works regularly as a Musical Director and recording pianist, and can be seen performing frequently around New York with House of Stride and other groups.
